West Ham host Jonathan David agent ahead of talks

Following last night’s 1-0 loss to Newcastle United at the London Stadium, EXWHUEmployee has reported that a notable figure was spotted at the game—none other than Jonathan David’s agent.

It’s no secret that Graham Potter has made it clear to the club that David is a key transfer target, urging the board to do whatever it takes to secure the Canadian striker. With his contract expiring this summer, he will be available on a free transfer.

While Barcelona is believed to be the player’s preferred destination, West Ham can offer more lucrative financial terms than the Catalan giants. The Hammers are reportedly prepared to offer £16.5m, covering agent fees, a long-term contract, and both signing and performance-based bonuses to land the Canadian international.

As I previously reported, West Ham were rumoured to have agreed a £30m deal with Lille last summer but ultimately baulked at the agent’s £10m commission demands.

Axia Sports, founded by Nick Mavromaras, represents 37 players, with David as their star client. Their roster also includes several other Canadian players, such as Derek Cornelius, Ismael Koné, and Moïse Bombito.

While it remains unlikely that the 25-year-old striker will sign for West Ham, other interested clubs, including Barcelona and Arsenal, have yet to submit bids. The Hammers remain hopeful of securing a deal

I have been a season ticket holder since the late eighties, so experienced the highs and lows of being a West Ham supporter. I previously wrote for OLAS and have contributed to a number of football publications in the past.

Does that agent represent Angel Gomez too?

I guarantee he wasn’t paying to join the season ticket waiting list to watch the dross we get served up every week.

After last nights performance it’s unlikely he will be seeing us as a choice.

Not criticising Potter he inherited an uncreative midfield that lacks the dynamism required to win midfield battles, am no longer sure Gomes would be the answer in the PL either, at international level there is more time and space and suspect he would struggle to make the impact he does in Ligue 1 and on the international stage. Hopefully McCauley has some targets lined up to reinvigorate us through the centre.

Am happy in general with the way we are defending, their goal like many they have scored against us over the years was contentious, Potter has at every other club had players that could press, move and pass, he needs to drill that even more into our players, as they are would consider Alvarez, JWP, Irving, Soler, Rodriquez, Kudus and Paqueta as all sellable because they aren’t playing at PL level consistently enough. I suspect a couple of them deliberately in order to bring their price down on the summer market.

    Must have lost his way.
Even if finances are agreeable what do you think he would be advising his client?
Watching that match hardly had much inspiration.
Stick to players who are achievable don’t waste time chasing myths.
