West Ham winger Mohammed Kudus appears to be rising in value with every passing week.
The Ghanaian’s buyout clause has long been an open secret in football circles — originally reported to be £80m when he joined from Ajax last summer.
However, more recent reports have suggested Kudus has a tiered release clause, with European clubs able to activate it at £80m, Premier League clubs needing to pay £85m, and Saudi Pro League sides expected to meet a far higher threshold.
Now, according to the Daily Mail, the fee for Saudi clubs has reportedly climbed to a staggering £125m.
Saudi giants Al-Nassr, who were beaten in yesterdays AFC Champions League semi-finals in a 3-2 humdinger, are said to be targeting Kudus as one of three choices for a big summer signing.
The club — which already features Cristiano Ronaldo and Jhon Durán — are reportedly prepared to bid up to £100m for Kudus, who has scored three Hammers goals this season.
In truth, any offer close to that figure is likely to be accepted by West Ham, with £125m incredibly unlikely given the player’s mixed form during the current campaign.
Still, Kudus remains one of West Ham’s most saleable assets, and with Saudi clubs willing to spend big, his exit could yet generate the funds needed to rebuild the squad this summer.
Take it! Cause he’s been a donkey like 8 out of the 11 first team players in that team! Have paqueta as well please! ☘️⚒️
