West Ham prepare for lowball Spurs Kudus bid
Much has been made of Daniel Levy’s supposed softening stance, with reports claiming that Tottenham Hotspur are ready to break their self-imposed “embargo” and finally do business with West Ham again. But let’s not kid ourselves — this isn’t a thaw in relations. It’s a smash-and-grab raid.
The suggestion that Spurs chairman Levy is making some sort of climbdown with a move for Mohammed Kudus is laughable. What exactly are West Ham gaining from this “thaw in relations”? A cut-price deal for one of our best players? It’s hardly a sign of peace when one side is helping themselves while the other gets little in return.
Unless my memory is playing tricks on me, the real transfer cold war began with us. West Ham made a stand by refusing to sell to Spurs and they reciprocated. So let’s be clear: this is a one-sided deal. Spurs come sniffing around our top talent but probably won’t entertain selling to us. That’s not reconciliation — it’s just Levy getting one over on David Sullivan.

If there was a genuine willingness to open up trade in a mutually beneficial fashion, we’d be hearing about a player heading our way. A loan, a sweetener, a part-exchange — anything. But right now, they’re just getting a good player for less than our valuation.
Until there’s a proper, reciprocal agreement where Spurs actually offer West Ham something of value, this “embargo break” is just spin. Tottenham are taking advantage of the Hammers constant declarations of poverty and really . . . who can blame them?

I think Spurs entering the arena for Kudus is laughable…As soon as Chelsea or Liverpool for that matter show they are serious then Spurs will not be able to compete …Especially with expectation…Out of all the English clubs in the CL they are the worst equipped…They have a manager with zero CL knowledge and their final against the most lethargic and tired Man U side was the most boring final in years….Kudus would be crazy if he signed for them.
err we are the selling club we have reduced his price to £60million so that has to be the stance..£60million take it or leave it…..and if no offer at that amount comes in well sod Kudus and his agent you are staying mate.

Agreed. From what I remember we stated that we wouldn’t sell to them. They have always circled like vultures when we have hit hard times, following relegation (Defoe and Carrick in 2003, Parker in 2010).
I’d rather Kudus went anywhere else than spurs, or remained here, but if we have to sell because the owners won’t fund transfers, then it has to be a minimum of £60m.
It’d be good if we sold Aguerd first to take these heat and rush off.

Sod them. Make him pay the full amount. If we roll over and let him go in the cheap, we will be a bigger joke than we are already in this market. I’d prefer less money and somewhere else.
