West Ham were yesterday linked with a move for Club Brugge and Swiss international midfielder Ardon Jashari.
The story was exclusively revealed by Hammers insider ExWHUEmployee, who claims West Ham have already met with Jashari’s agent to discuss a potential summer move.
Ex also revealed that Nayef Aguerd has asked to leave the club, a claim Claret & Hugh confirmed through multiple sources both inside and outside the club. That same Patreon update also included the news of Jashari interest, which now appears to be spot-on too.
It’s understood that Head of Recruitment Kyle Macaulay has already spoken directly to the 22-year-old’s agent as West Ham begin to make plans for a midfield overhaul this summer.
Jashari is a defensive midfielder known for his composure in possession and ability to dictate the tempo of a game. The Swiss international would appear to be the type of presence in the middle of the park that West Ham have lacked this season.
However, as with many recent transfer targets, Manchester United are reportedly the frontrunners to land the talented midfielder. The Red Devils are understood to be monitoring the player closely.
That said, Man U possibly have bigger fish to fry and this is certainly the type of signing which is both affordable and believable for West Ham.
Whu never seem to know how to handle ‘Wonderkids’.
They usually end up as academy players or warming subs bench (Guilherme?).
