West Ham United’s first Premier League team has been chosen by Head Coach Julen Lopetegui, and there are  two  PL debuts. From a squad with just Edson Alvarez absent through his hamstring injury, the Hammers’ Spanish coach has selected Kilman and Rodriguez from the Irons’ Summer signings in the starting eleven to take on Aston Villa.

Amongst a layer of rule changes in the Premier League, (check them out in full here), time will be added on in a different manner to previous years, so ‘Fergie Time’ is likely to be a lot shorter.

Also remember that five substitutes can be used in each game now, so having a strong bench becomes more of an asset than in previous years.

The full team is the same which featured in last week’s Betway Cup.

New Signings Todibo, Summerville, Wan Bissaka and Fullkrug are substitutes named in what is a pretty strong bench: Interestingly, Andy Irving makes the bench and could also be in line for a PL debut. No Place for Guilherme though..

Like everyone else, lifelong WHU fan and season ticket holder in old BMU stand at Upton Park from 2003. Billy Bonds these days with my adult son and impatiently waiting for my Grandson to be old enough to initiate him before his mum grabs him for Man U. All opinions are my own very biased ones.

  • John Ayris says:

Not the eleven I’d have started with but I’ve not seen performances in training and don’t know about fitness levels, degrees of integration and knocks.

Look at the bench though there’s a luxury of options there, anyone who underperforms and they’re out of there.

  • Dudley Tyler says:

Two sendings off and one big injury in today’s other games so far. Start the game off with nothing too radical. Don’t get too emotional. It’s a long season.

    • John Ayris says:

Yes I saw that, it must have been a big injury as Forest security were holding up screens.
