With things looking a little brighter on the Premier League front for our Hammers we can perhaps approach the second leg of the Conference clash against Gent with more excitement and optimism.
Quite what sort of team the manager puts out remains to be seen as we bid to win the game on aggregate following the 1-1 draw in Belgium.
But anything close to the sort of performance we saw against Arsenal on Sunday looks certain to se us into the semi final.
After wins over Viborg, Anderlecht, FCSB, Silkeborg and AEK Larnaca, the tie with Gent is finely poised and the meeting rekindles memories of our glorious 1964/65 European Cup Winners’ Cup run, when we defeated the Belgians 2-1 on aggregate in the first round and went on to lift the trophy at Wembley.
This time around a run to the final in Prague is the aim and the boys will need your backing as we look to take another step down the path.
