West Ham v Newcastle …Hammers ratings

Areola: No chance with the goals but a couple of fine saves – one left handed from a close range header – as Newcastle turned up the second half pressure 7

Coufal: Continues to get forward well, beaten down the right a couple of time but in general terms was fine 7

Aguerd: Never troubled until missing out on an attempted headed clearance which led to the opening Newcastle goal but always good on the ball 7

Zouma: Excellent first half and pretty composed second despite coming under a lot of pressure for most of the second half 7

Man of the match Paqueta

Emerson: Excellent going forward when  he was very threatening in the first half and provided a great assist for Soucek’s goal. Did ok at the back 7

Alvarez: Impressive in front of the defence as ever. Popped up in right places at right time but the odd error her and there 6

Ward-Prowse: Very busy indeed in midfield but a regular target for the Toon bully boys. Impressive AGAIN 8

Paqueta: Magnificent again and on a different level to the rest most of the time 9

Soucek: Looks the player he was in first season in a more attacking role grabbing fourth goal of the year and first in the PL 7

Bowen: Once again always busy and a brilliant outlet on the right side. Has his chances on a day when we crated plenty 7

Antonio: Led the line really well, holding off challenges and bring others into play- 7

Benrahama: Missed a straightforward touch in near the end – frustrating 5

Kudus: What a time to get your debut goal – the equaliser after coming on in the 73rd minute. Looks a serious prospect again 8
