West Ham Wait For Transfer Domino Effect

West Ham’s summer transfer window is waiting for the first domino to fall, which will either be the sale of Mohammed Kudus for at least £65m or the not guilty verdict for Lucas Paqueta.

Four Premier League clubs have expressed an interest in Kudus, who has made it clear that he has no desire to play in the Middle East at this stage of his career.

Last week, Claret and Hugh revealed he had signed with German agency ROOF at the start of this year, and they are calling the shots on his next career move and which leagues he is prepared to play in.

Lucas Paqueta’s legal representatives and agents are waiting patiently for the verdict of his FA hearing. They remain convinced he will be cleared and a non-guilty verdict will trigger the sale of the Brazilian player with a host of Premier League admirers ready to make offers if he is not banned.

If either of these dominoes falls or both, it will kick-start the summer rebuild of Graham Potter’s West Ham squad.

Seems to be a lot of negative comments on this board..?
    Chill out, it’s only June!

Guys, let’s chill. Just maybe sides that are doing their business early, may regret doing so, when other players become available later in the window when the market properly gets moving. I know it’s frustrating and yes Sullivan worries the hell out of me but let’s have a bit of patience.

Another day, same old West Ham. I think I might save myself the stress by coming back on August 31st and see if anything actually happened, probably not.

Another day full of misery and bs coming from the world of West Ham….tin pot club just embarrassing these days

But the problem will then be, selling clubs will know how much money we have to spend.

As it stands, we currently have 20 senior players on our books, based on the club website. Of these, 8 (Aguerd, Emerson, Paqueta, Kudus, Alvarez, Cornet, Rodriguez, Irving) are either wanting out or wanted out, not including Guilherme, who is clearly not rated by Potter, and Soucek, who might actually get us in £20m, which means we are in need of some serious incomings.

You’d expect that Scarles and Potts will definitely be promoted to the first team. There’d also be an argument for bringing through Casey, Earthy and Marshall too. With that in mind, assuming Summerville is to be used as a wingback, we need a goalkeeper, a wingback, an 8 and a 6, and a couple of attackers.

Assuming we do ship everyone on that list out, and bring in that number of players, we’d have 23 (or 21 if you ship off Guillerme and Soucek too…), and Potter echos Moyes in wanting a smaller squad (and I’m guessing that’s also music to Sullivans ears…).

Why are we sitting playing tiddlywinks? You could be looking at a total of 15 players out, at least 6 new signings, and at least 5 promotions from the academy, so surely the coaches need a full pre-season with the squad?

Shows the stark difference between a coach that Sullivan backs and a coach he wants to sabotage, IMHO.

Sadly by the time either Kudus or Paqueta are sold, all our top targets will have already moved clubs elsewhere.

We will be left with scraps.

Surely we have to hedge our bets a little here and get the first 2x new players in whilst trying to conclude sale of Kudus?

Our strategy has been badly handled, we have massively put ourselves at a disadvantage by declaring we are skint and have to sell before we buy.

Even if that’s the case, making it so apparent we are skint, tells other clubs to hold firm on their valuations, as we are desperate.

Very poor straregy from West Ham.

Imagine a multi million pound company being so badly run that they constantly need to rebuild, this is all on your mate Sean, he has zero continuity when picking his next manager, we go from Moyes to lopetegui then to potter each with a very different philosophy and they can’t use the current players effectively so we have to rip it up and start again. I believe this will be the season that the nightmare becomes reality and we fall through the trapdoor into the championship and sulli will be responsible for it. I hope he realises what the backlash will be like as many fans are furious already.
