West Ham want SIX more signings

Journalist Jacob Steinberg has given a significant West Ham transfer update, announcing that the Hammers could sign 6-8 players after completing the deal for Luis Guilherme.

Steinberg has reported that West Ham are looking to make six to eight signings this summer and has provided some details. The Guardian journalist suggests that the Hammers will look to buy two central defenders, a striker, and a left winger. The news about the two central defenders was broken exclusively on C&H after speaking to our top source at the club on May 13th.

However, no mention was made of the club signing a new left-back, which is what Steinberg has detailed in his article. It would certainly be a big transfer twist given the club is looking to retain Emerson and has just given Aaron Cresswell a new 12-month contract. Jacob does have excellent contacts at West Ham so this could certainly be one to watch.

West Ham remain in the hunt for a striker, which was described to Claret & Hugh as ‘a 100% transfer priority’ by a high-ranking club source. Hammers fan Steinberg also confirms that West Ham are actively looking for a left winger.

Tim Steidten is in Brazil closing deals and identifying potential transfers but is believed to be working closely with new West Ham head coach Julen Lopetegui to ensure as many of the transfers are ready for pre-season as possible.
