West Ham United are reportedly closing in on yet another new striker for the upcoming season, with Spanish youngster Samu Omorodion emerging as a potential target.
Following David Moyes’ departure, Julen Lopetegui has taken the reins at West Ham. A striker appears to be a top priority for the new manager, and Omorodion is on the radar
The 20-year-old has drawn comparisons to Erling Haaland due to his playing style. West Ham are reportedly close to securing his signature for a fee of around £30 million.
Omorodion impressed on loan at Deportivo Alaves last season, scoring nine goals in La Liga. This earned him a call-up to the Spanish U-21 national team, where he has continued his goalscoring form.
Journalist Antonio Ruiz reported on El Partidazo de COPE that a Premier League club has reached an agreement with Atletico Madrid for Omorodion. While the club wasn’t named, El Desmarque suggests West Ham are the frontrunners.
