West Ham will look to spoil Man City record

|

West Ham have won 37, drawn 18 and lost 59 in all competitions against Manchester City since they first played in old division one in 1924.

Pep Guardiola clearly loves the EFL/Carabao Cup and has won it four consecutive times – from 2017/18 to 2020/21.

Man City have not lost a single EFL Cup match since 2017/2018.

City will be looking for their 5th consecutive trophy and 9th in total, when they face West Ham at London Stadium on Wednesday night, October 27 at 7:45 pm.

David Moyes is hoping to upset City’s record after beating Manchester United 1-0 to advance to this round of 16 to knock out City.

Man City are the favourite for the cup but David Moyes current team fears no one and this is not a forgone conclusion.

City has beaten West Ham all of the five last matches played between these two sides.

These two clubs have scored against each other in 3 of their last 5 matches.

The Hammers last League cup encounter came in 2014 when West Ham lost 3-0 while a FA Cup clash in 2017 ended 5-0 against the Irons.

West Ham’s last win in all competitions came in 2015 when Victor Moses and Diafra Sakho made it a 2-1 win at the Ethiad stadium.

The year before that it was Morgan Amalfitano and Diafra Sakho on the West Ham score sheet to mak 2-1 at the Boleyn Ground.
