West Ham wizkid Dan Rigge signs his first professional deal

As Claret & Hugh reported last week, West Ham teenager has signed his first professional contract with the club. In what is great news for the academy, Rigge joined George Earthy and Kaelan Casey who both recently signed new deals.

Rigge is an attacking midfielder blessed with exceptional talent, who was coveted by clubs across the continent. The attacker was an integral part of the squad that triumphed in the U18 Premier League South division and clinched the FA Youth Cup titles in the previous season.

West Ham wizkid signs: Rigge has signed his first professional contract for West Ham.

Notably, Rigge made a significant switch to West Ham’s Academy of Football from Manchester City and inked Scholarship terms in July 2022.

During his debut season, Rigge impressed under the guidance of U18s lead coach Kevin Keen. He made a total of 24 appearances across various competitions in the 2022/23 season.

A clearly jubilant Rigge told West Ham TV: “Winning the FA Youth Cup was one of the best feelings I’ve had in football. The support was amazing. I don’t think you would get that at another club.”

Rigge is in no hurry to forget his Stockport roots, but is clearly settling well in East London. “My family put in immense effort to help me reach this point, so I hope they feel a sense of pride.”

He further shared, “My younger brother has been eagerly anticipating this experience. We attended the match against Newcastle, and it was his second visit to the London Stadium. He absolutely enjoyed the atmosphere!”

Rigge finished his interview by stating his desire to play in front on over 50,000 people at The London Stadium. All he needs now is a pathway into the first team . . . Over to you Moyesie.
