West Ham wonderkid snubs surprise move as Tottenham look to complete Kudus deal!

While the Mohammed Kudus transfer to Tottenham will dominate the news headlines over the next few days, West Ham have reportedly also received an enquiry from Brazilian club, Botafogo for Luis Guilherme, according to Globo Esporte.

The 19 year old, joined West Ham last season in a deal worth around £25m, but made only 13 appearances in his debut campaign. The report suggests that despite the interest from Botafogo, Guilherme and his representatives are said to have turned down the approach with the player determined to continue his development at West Ham.

Earlier in the year Guilherme admitted he initially found the Premier League challenging, noting the faster pace and higher intensity compared to what he was used to. However, as the season progressed he began to adapt and started to show flashes of the talent that prompted West Ham to invest in him.

With significant squad changes anticipated and the likelihood of manager Graham Potter having depleted numbers, all eyes will be on the Brazilian starlet in the new season as he looks to truly kick start his Premier League career at the London stadium.

I have been a season ticket holder since the late eighties, so experienced the highs and lows of being a West Ham supporter. I previously wrote for OLAS and have contributed to a number of football publications in the past.

I am happy about this Guilherme is showing great resilience and deserves an extended run for his attitude. He has the attributes to do well just needs to up his level a bit to challenge Bowen or play all the cup games.

At least he is young athletic and quick unlike the deadwood we need to trim.

If Kudus goes good riddance, then there are a few players like Emerson, Rodriguez, Alvarez, Aguerd, Irving, Cornet, JWP and Mavropanos that are also dispensable.

If we can sign Diouf and Martinez our full back positions will be well covered. Then we need another Goalkeeper, Striker, CDM, Playmaker and left winger as competition for Jimmy

Put your house on Kudos putting a few past us this season, poor business, AGAIN !
60 years supporting to end up with this circus 🙏😥

  • Terry says:

With new signings being few and far between best we keep what we’ve got even though he probably won’t start could be a useful bench warmer

  • Dutch Courage says:

If he had any sense at all he’d have taken the chance to get out of this club.

  • Hmm says:

Hmm. Let’s hope Guilherme can step up and take over from Kudus because I can’t see us doing any long term squad building follow up after the Kudus sale. We didn’t build after Payet, Arnautović, or Rice. Can’t see it happening after Kudus.

  • Mohammed Judus says:

Looking forward to seeing more of Guilherme this season coming. That’s what loyalty looks like.

  • Harry says:

    ‘Buy high, sell low’

‘Sell them all, they have to go ladies’

    ‘No unreasonable offer rejected’

This is what the clowns at West Ham shout from their market stool

How the hell they made money I have no idea, even the Czech bloke is hiding

  • Martin storrie says:

Sullivan told the world West Ham had no funds for transfers & had to sell to buy anybody, hence other clubs steal our players for peanuts, it’s unbelievable & such poor business

  • Matt says:

If we only manage to get £55m for Kudus, we won’t get sod all for him so may as well see if he can develop as he did show glimpses of talent and we now have few other options

  • Graham says:

I Think you have forgotten to write the part of the article about a ‘West Ham wonderkid’!!! All I could see was a bit about Kudus and a bit about that bang average Brazilian bloke we wasted our money on last summer!!!

  • OLIVER says:

GIVE HIM A CHANCE AT WEST HAM

  • Jeeps says:

Kudus sale avoids board putting hands in their pockets.
Guilherme has been under discussion for sometime.
He has always maintained desire to be a whu player.
Classified as homegrown it would be another big mistake selling this lad at a ridiculous loss.
Fits Potters age desire and will fit in with academy players, keep him.
This transfer period has become a shambles
Constantly being linked with players who we have no chance of signing.
Potters words promising an exciting new season are just a load of bs

  • Martyn says:

Fantastic, hope he gets games now, I feel he will become a very decent player and valuable.

  • Ryan says:
