West Ham United face a pivotal decision regarding the future of one of their brightest academy graduates, George Earthy. As Martin confirmed in an article earlier in September, the player’s current contract is set to expire in June 2026. With a fresh injury setback sidelining him for up to ten weeks, questions are mounting over whether the England U-21 international will commit his long-term future to the club he grew up supporting

Represented by CAA base, Earthy is yet to put pen to paper on a new contract, and fans are concerned that a similar issue could occur to that of former academy prospect Divin Mubama. Earthy is reportedly earning £15k a week, with bonuses bringing this to £18,750 and will be looking for improved terms.

Hammers face rerun of Mubama saga

Club legend, Mark Noble has acted as a mentor for the player, and has been instrumental in securing Earthy’s path at the club.

As a consequence Earthy rejected an approach from Wrexham in the last transfer window in order to focus on his career at his boyhood club. The creative midfielder also had interest from WBA, Middlesbrough, Norwich City and Bristol City where he enjoyed a loan last season, scoring three goals.
The midfielder’s latest injury—a hamstring issue sustained during Nuno Espírito Santo’s first training session adds to a growing list of fitness concerns. He had already missed preseason due to an ankle ligament problem, and now faces a race against time to return before the festive fixtures.

The next few months will be critical. If Earthy can return to fitness and impress under Nuno, a new contract seems likely. For now, the ball is in Earthy’s court—and the club’s physio room.
