West Ham‘s defence face a big Dominic Solanke test on Thursday night!

They face a Bournemouth striker wanted by David Moyes and most other managers in the Premier League and a guy who scored in the 1-1 draw against us in the opening game of the season .

West Ham’s defence face a big Dominic Solanke test

The Cherries front man has so far scored 12

Premier League goals in 19 games including a hat-trick against Nottingham Forest on the team’s last game before Christmas at the City Ground.

He is currently joint third top Premier League scorer with Son Heung Min, having played a game less and two fewer than joint top Mohammed Salah and Erling Haaland who are on 14 apiece.

Thankfully, we have signed Kalvin Phillips soon enough for the match and he will presumably line up alongside Edson Alvarez – who has declared himself fit for the game – as a shield for the back four where there have been issues over recent games.

Kurt Zouma has looked a touch slow whilst Konstantinos Mavropanos, as detailed here in an earlier story, has been responsible for unforced errors since his arrival.

It will also be interesting to see whether Ben Johnson gets another chance, off the bench presumably, to show us some of the midfield form which so impressed when he arrived into the Sheffield United game.

Assuming all, other than Lucas Paqueta it appears, are fit, this looks like the team Moyes will field, assuming of course there are no further arrivals,  in a bid to beat a team which has lost its last two Premier League games, having won the previous four

West Ham: Areola, Johnson, Mavropanos, Zouma, Emerson, Phillips, Alvarez, Ward-Prowse, Kudus, Ings, Bowen.
