West Ham United‘s attempt to sign Hull City’s young defender Jacob Greaves has hit a snag, according to Football League World . This now opens the door for other interested clubs.

The Tigers are expected to see a fair bit of player interest this summer, with both Jaden Philogene and Jacob Greaves attracting particular attention.

Greaves, a product of Hull’s youth system, has been a key player. His statistics highlight his strong performances, strong tackling and a high win rate in aerial duels. This has unsurprisingly attracted Premier League interest.

As with other potential signings this window, West Ham were previously reported to be close to signing Greaves, but talks have stalled, creating an opportunity for both Everton and Ipswich Town to move in on the 23-year-old defender.

However, Greaves faces a difficult decision. Staying at Hull offers the chance to play for an ambitious club with potential for promotion. However, the allure of the Premier League and a potential offer he might not get again could be a major factor.

The decision the Irons must make is either to continue after his signature or just let him go. It appears that Hull City are holding out for a fee in excess of £20 million, and for a player with no Premier League experience we could perhaps do better.

Hoping to sign prima donor’s for peanuts, no chance.
Need to be realistic plenty of talent available.
Put Max Kilman on back burner and concentrate on young talent.
Defence was abysmal last year and does need upgrading with more than just one player.
Pointing finger at so many players just complicates choices.
Make some decisions and go for it, time is ticking.

Getting boring now . I thought we wanted these transfers in place before pre season. So far some Brazilian kid and a 60 year old goalkeeper from Sheffield Utd FFS.
Who next Callum Wilson? Please God no!!!!!

This is just the same as the last few transfer windows. We are getting him or him. Guess what no where not getting him or him. Too much money, or he doesn’t want to play for West Ham. Or some other excuse. The new manager said we are getting all the new players in well before the start of the season. Keep dreaming.

You spent that amount on Jarrod Bowen from us with no Premier league experience and he’s your best player!!

This is an unprecidented window for WH. We are still in the comparitively early window and the Euro internationals cannot be seriously contacted until next month. We have to leave Steidten to get us over the line whenever/wherever and have faith in the new regime, albeit with Sullvan’s heavy hands on the reins. Quite exciting really but hopefully we will have a deceng new YOUNG squad from August on.

so basically we’re no further to signing anyone & the goals will still be hitting the back of our net instead of the other way around so glad we’re getting our transfers done early

Or, could we do anything at all ? Judging from our almost total failure to sign anyone !
I am worried, what with all the names you mention – & all of them eventually seeming to disappear from the scene.
