Yesterday was a flurry of news and opinion regarding West Ham’s made – and rejected- offer of £57 million for Jhon Duran. Other stories got a little sidelined in the flurry of activity regarding what might have been – but won’t be – West Ham’s most expensive signing, blowing away the €50 million that the club paid for Sebastien Haller.
So other news tended to slide by un-noticed on the radar. One very good piece of news was passed on by Sean regarding the fitness of two pivotal members of West Ham’s attack – Crysencio Summerville and captain Jarrod Bowen.
Both have been a huge miss in recent games – Bowen has yet to feature for the Hammers’ third head coach of his career and Summerville was a big miss against Crystal Palace.
The good news is that Summerville is expected to be fit again for the trip to Aston Villa on Sunday. The team looked toothless without his pace and Potter, along with every fan watching seeking a more uplifting, lively team performance, will welcome him back with open arms.
The bigger surprise was the update on Jarrod Bowen’s fitness: He is making an excellent recovery from his fractured foot and is now expected back for the Chelsea game on Monday 3rd February: Just two weeks away!
After the turgid performance against Crystal Palace without either of these two pacy forwards, just the news that Graham Potter and West Ham fans needed to get the bounce back. Now if we can just get that striker deal finalised before 4th February..
Great news on these two …. If it’s true…. Let keep fingers crossed …. And hope we don’t lose any one else …….. Duran was never coming to West Ham … he can command big money now
🤞🤞🤞⚒️⚒️⚒️⚒️ COYI
Just because you repeatedly allow yourself to be entertained and distracted by Duran type garbage, does not mean the rest of us are not paying attention to the real news.
we’re willing to pay 57 mill where 40 mill would have done last year? beggars belief… I also don’t understand Guiherme not getting minutes given the situation we find ourselves in.. he’s either good enough or not. If not, shouldn’t be near the first team, if he is and made the bench, blood him for a new matches and let’s see what he’s about !
Don’t worry Plan B is Neymar followed by Mappe and Ronaldo.
Age is of no concern, whu policy.
Hopefully by the time Bowen returns we’ll have just 3 new players out of the many speculated.
All of which will be Sully ounts From Greek League 4
They ought to rename the London Stadium The Big Top…….
And, as Pete says, send the Porn Baron to the Tower !
This was clearly a phantom bid to say ‘ we tried but got outbid’. No way were Villa going to seek for 57 million and no way have we got the money. Today it is being reported that our plan B after failing for Duran is Andre Silva, a slow, aging 30 year who has played a game this season. Honestly you couldn’t make it up Sullivan is just an embarrassment.
SULLIVAN OUT!!!
I’m not going to comment on Duran as it’s total rubbish ,but I will say that it’s good news that we’ve got 2 of our better players back more notably Bowen as he is our team at the moment hopefully gets the right support with additional forwards within the next fortnight
Am I the only one cringeing about the allefed £57m offer for Dhuran? Firstly, there is NO WAY he is worth that in any market. Still unproven on the whole with questionable character. The only thing mussing is an injury history as long as your arm and he’d be perfect for us.
We’ve mugged ourselves off AGAIN in a bid for the same player who we deemed not to be worgh £40m but 4 months ago.
It’s simply embarrassing.
Not to mention, because this, as everything West Ham, is being played out publicly, we’ve now shown every other club we may potentially be dealing with our financial hand.
How precisely did Sulluvan make his millions operating like this?
No, you’re not the only one, you’re assesment is spot on. As if the original bid was not embarrassing enough and haggle over £5m Sullivan then decides he’s worth £57m, which is £17m more than he’s probably worth and massively overpriced! Unbelievably embarrassing and laughable, we deserve so much better than the clowns allegedly running the club.
I’m cringing at the thought of another entitled celebrity player joining. A prima donna if ever there was one. Steidten at his “best”. I hoped Potter might be more aware than this.
Don’t worry Duran will probably score against us on Sunday like he did on the 1st day of the season.
