As reported yesterday West Ham United are preparing a move for former Barcelona midfielder Sergi Roberto as they look to further strengthen their midfield options.

The Hammers have been busy in the transfer market, with a done deal just today  for Crysencio Summerville, and those of Niclas Fullkrug and Guido Rodriguez nearing completion. The potential addition of Roberto would add another layer of experience and creativity to the squad.

A midfield partnership of Roberto and Rodriguez could prove to be a formidable force, with the Spaniard’s attacking prowess complementing the Argentine’s defensive solidity. The pair’s ability to contribute both offensively and defensively would provide West Ham with a well-rounded midfield unit.

While Roberto may no longer be at the peak of his powers, his experience and versatility would be invaluable to the Hammers. The Spaniard’s ability to play in multiple positions could also offer Lopetegui greater tactical flexibility.

As West Ham continue to build a competitive squad for the upcoming season, the potential signing of Sergi Roberto represents another exciting chapter in the Irons transfer window.

Hope we still get Duran, not only for goals & opions now , but future years & profit at his age it can only be a good buy, if we can then get quality central defender in, a right back & another central midfielder, i think the squad should be in the mix for top 6. Hopefully we can get rid of some deadwood of the wages bill

This rumour sounds unlikely to be true

Looks like KWP will be staying at Southampton.
Moyes had dealings with Man Utd when he tried to sign AWP.
They told AWP to find another club and weren’t playing him after messing about so much any deal was eliminated.
There is now another saga which could end up in the same manner.
If funds were available Joe Gomez has much more versatility than either of the others.
Unfortunately it looks like Newcastle are also in the mix.

I will be disappointed if we don’t get a decent centre half to play with Kilman. We also need a right back Wan Bissaka would be a good addition

Hard to imagine a third 30+ player in this window. I just can’t see this one happening unless the Rodrigues deal falls through.
