Irons Need For Speed

West Ham United‘s pursuit of a high-speed forward to bolster their attacking options remains a top priority for manager Julen Lopetegui.

The decline of Michail Antonio has left a void in terms of pace and directness, and the Hammers are keen to address this deficiency before the transfer window closes. Danny Ings scored a ‘worldie’ free kick in a friendly but is not seen as a long-term solution for West Ham to build on.

With the likes of Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus providing creativity, the addition of a rapid forward could prove to be a potent combination. However, the club has seemingly identified a number of targets but none have been successful captures as yet: Jhon Duran, Brazilian Yuri Alberto and German Niklas Fullkrug are just the latest in a line of forwards to have been linked with The Hammers in the last couple of days.

Perhaps if we had European football on offer, things might have been different

As the transfer window moves into its last month, the pressure is mounting on West Ham to finalise their squad and ensure they are adequately prepared for the upcoming Premier League campaign.

Really well I didn’t know that that’s a surprise. I think we should be concentrating more on our defence and midfield that’s where our problems are.

Simon with yet another state the obvious…pointless article

  • Ian says:

So we need a ‘speedy striker’ yet are linked with Fullkrug and Yuri Alberto. Priceless

So fed up with this constant failure to land anyone. Reports elsewhere state we are considering yer another right back….that’s 4 now in the last 2 weeks!

Can anyone explain what is so dreadful about coming to live in beautiful London, and playing in front of 60,000 passionate fans in the most competitive league in the world?

Are we low balling on bids and wages, so that we get outbid by smaller clubs, or is it our hierarchy just cannot make up their mind about who they really want. So, my advice….decide right now who you really want, pay up on both the transfer fee and the wages, and get the deals over the line.

We have a ‘speedy’ striker lined up. A striker with pace, power, clinical finishing, and he’s only 20 years old, so will have sell on value. Oh, and he’s reportedly desperate to join us. Look for spare change down the back of the sofa if you have to, but find the £40m and sign him.

  • Trevor Brooking walks on water says:

We are now counting the cost of no European football and a disastrous January transfer window. Enough said.

    • Nicko says:

Totally agree. I’m sure if we had Euro football we could have had a load of players signed for us. Although Moyes gave us some success, he put us in this position. We got to get into Europe next year or could lose Kudus and co.

God it’s not over exaggeration but jesus.its like ground hog day …we have known this for the last 3 years .avout a striker …..why not a nice post saying bisaka has signed ..apparently it was close 3 days ago ??? …I MEAN WHAT THE FK DO THEY DO ??? …your on a bout we need 5 new players .. we can’t even get one over the line …just more bs to appeas the fans but the trouble is we all have been listening to the same sayings every day …under 3 weeks til the start ..and we will no way have a full squad that have trained together and settled in ….its just utterly unbelievable how gullable they think we are …JUST PAY THE GOING RATE OR JUST BELOW ..like …Fulham…arsenal…Everton.and villa did …and that was just yesterday

  • Martyn says:

Frustrating isn’t it!! Can’t believe we got Max Kilman to sign so easily.

  • John jag says:

The hammers could do with a player like the late SPEED.
    .

  • Jeeps says:

Suggestion is 2 strikers will be signed.
Not sure how great if it happens but not at expensive of other positions that need to be filled.
C/bk, r/bk, l/bk and l/winger capable of playing across front line.
    Tick tock, tick tock
