West Ham face Wolves on Friday evening at home under the lights and every fan has been asking pretty much the same question: “Will Crysencio Summerville be fit”? The winger actually had a fitness test at the weekend but did not take part in the FA Cup final which, after the disaster that befell Leeds United midfielder Anton Stach, might just possibly have been a sensible decision under the circumstances from Hammers boss Nuno Espírito Santo.
Alongside Mavropanos and Todibo, Summerville has been a big miss since he injured his calf in the fifth round of the FA Cup and has not appeared since.
Masters of obfuscation at West Ham, the media department has started ‘teasing’ fans now to try and resurrect morale after the FA Cup loss. T
hat is the only explanation that might explain the post yesterday that alluded to – but did not explicitly confirm – the state of Summerville’s injury.
Pictured heading out to training, the cryptic comment attached to Crysencio Summerville’s image said just:
“Full focus on Friday”

Which would seem to offer West Ham fans the news they’v been hoping to hear. Confirmation as soon as we have it.
If Summerville is still out, questions need to be asked of our medical team. Not for the first time in recent seasons an injured player has been allowed to play on and potentially do themselves more harm than necessary . If Summerville had been pulled as soon as he went down he might have been a certainty for Friday.
