Striker’s Future Hanging In The Balance

Danny Ings‘ future at West Ham United hangs in the balance as the club looks to streamline its squad.

The striker’s high wages and limited playing time have made him a surplus to requirements, with the Hammers keen to offload him to free up funds for other transfer targets. However, Ings’ reluctance to take a significant pay cut has hindered potential moves.

With the arrival of Niclas Fullkrug, competition for places in the forward line has intensified, further reducing Ings’ chances of regular first-team football. While the Englishman remains a capable striker, his lack of consistent form and the club’s need to cut costs make his departure increasingly likely.

West Ham will continue to explore options for Ings, but finding a suitable buyer willing to meet his wage demands will be a challenge. As the transfer window draws to a close, the club will need to make a decision on the striker’s future.

The method by which Kurt Zouma’s move has been engineered should serve as a reminder to others that if Lopetegui wants them gone, then – one way or another, they’re gone.

We’ve never actually played to Ings’ strengths. Moyes stuck him up top alone like Antonio, and that’s just not his game. There’s no doubting his finishing ability. Depends if the new coach sees him as a viable option in the more possession based style we hopefully adopt. Even then he can’t be forced out

He was given chances admittedly not too often but a forward is judged by one thing and that’s goals and he didn’t produce

I think Moyes treated him very badly. He stopped his loan to Wolves. When he has played he has shown he’s capable and top drawer. But by not playing him they lower his value. I think they should give him a fair crack and then make a decision in January.
Yes I’m sure he wants to play but he’s not stupid. Taking a 50% plus pay cut. West Ham must be mad. They bought him, treated him like excrement and then want him gone. Sounds more like the Krays are in charge.

I think you’ve hit the nail on the head. Wait until January when there’s a nervous club or three that need a striker with a proven track record. Sounds strangely familiar.

Ings has zero chance of starting for us barring mass injuries.
If he wants first team football he will move but I woulsn’t have a penny on that outcome

It’s ok wanting a player to leave, but unless you can find a club to take him, he’s staying. Plus if a player decides he doesn’t want to leave, how can you force him?

I think the man believes that he has something to offer to the club and wishes to fight for his place.

I cannot imagine he just wants to sit on the bench collecting a paycheck.

He is still training, watching his diet and doing everything he can to keep his body in professional shape.

He is a quality finisher but his style of play is not as a lone striker. Not many can create their own assists!

  • Bernard Palmer says:

I think you’re wrong he can just sit there and take he’s weekly wage.I don’t think he’s worried about bonuses. If he does stay then maybe they will play because of he’s wage.
