A £80m price tag has already been placed on Mateus Fernandes, with a number of clubs reportedly interested in the Portuguese midfielder.
Championship Wage Reductions Could Limit West Ham Departures
A mass clear-out is highly unlikely. No player has a relegation clause, most are tied to long-term deals, and wages will automatically halve in the Championship, all factors that naturally limit movement.

If existing player and coaching contracts include a 50% wage reduction, won’t the majority of players be looking to exit the club? With the exception of Kilman, Cornet, Fulkrig, Alvarez and Ward-Prowse who won’t be able to better our new offers, and who all offer zero value for money, the rest will be all over their agents to find deals which maximise their earnings. And who can blame them? So I must beg to differ – there will be a mass exodus.
contracts work both ways. Players can only exit if the club agree. otherwise they have to honour their contract

Surely the 50% wage cut is going to have players asking for transfers, knowing that they could get back to their full wage, or possibly more elsewhere.

We have £150 million of player sales we must do to be SCR compliant that will dictate who stays and who goes.
SCR doesn’t count in the championship. Relegated clubs also get an extra £22m on top of the £39m losses based over a 3 season period. So the best scenario would be to spend just one season in the EFL and not encounter sanctions from them if we overstep the limits. If we then trim off the fat for our return, income will again increase meaning the premier league SCR should be more achievable to us.
That measn anyone who is any good will go. Bowen, Fernandez, Diouf, Mavropanous, Wan-Bissaka, Summerville, Taty will be on their way. Some of the youngsters will be off as they are pure profit from any fees. So Kante, Earthy, Fearon may be out as well. We made a £100m loss last year, will be down £100m of revenue and have god knows how much of transfer fees still to pay, I saw someone meantion £196m on one website. I suspect we need more than £150m.
Also if we keep Nuno (the brainless buffoon who started 5 at the back in the must win game against Newcastle) and have to rely on Kilman (a lamppost does a better job of being mobile) then we will join Leicester in league 1.

Did you not notice they spent most of their time in the opposition half, or didn’t see how well it worked against man city where we forced a draw??Of course Kilman was Wolves captain, and played well enough for us to offer 40m for him?
