As Wilfried Zaha has just a few months left on his current contract, and he is currently out of favour and in all likelihood will not renew his contract with Crystal Palace anmd is not unnaturally attracting suitors.
Ok, it is the The Daily Star but the paper claims we and Newcastle United are currently leading the race to sign the 30-year-old, who has proven Premier league form
As we all know, West Ham have struggled to create opportunities and score goals this season.
Summer signing Gianluca Scamacca has been spectacularly underwhelming, and our record goal scorer Michail Antonio has misplaced his scoring boots.
Bringing in someone like Zaha who has the athleticism and pace to pierce defences defences will certainly help our cause. We have been overly reliant on players like Jarrod Bowen for goals and creativity this season, and we really need to bring in more options.
However, it is to be hoped our very own, home grown, Divin Mbuma will hopefully make his mark in the first team next season.
This is one headline that isn’t even worth taking seriously.
Why are we still being linked with players of his age, injury record, not prolific and on the wrong side of his peak?
But……….I do hope that West Ham have their eyes on Michael Olise…
I was hoping that we brought him BEFORE he joined Palace from Reading because I believe that THIS is the type of player that West Ham need. Young, talented with untold vision and ability. This is the type of player our club have been crying out for, the type of player that provides a link to our strikers. I truly believe that he will go on to become a top footballer and future French international.
I feel that Olise would offer something like Yossi Benayoun or Eyal Berkovic before him.
Not for me thanks. Cheating, diving, crys like a little baby when he doesn’t get his own way.
