Will it be a claret and blue virtual Grand National?

Whether you are big on horse racing or not, most love a flutter on the Grand National.

Sadly, today’s has been lost but ITV will be providing a welcome diversion from the total lack of TV sport by showing the Virtual Grand National at 5.15 pm today (Sat).

Millions are expected to watch the race on ITV this weekend and the great news is that all major bookmakers will donate profits to NHS Charities Together.

And if any of you have an on-line account, and want to contribute, there’s one horse who might carry Hammers fans couple of bob – Ballyoptic – whose colours are very much claret and blue.

Trainer Nigel Twiston Davies’ charge is priced at 25/1 whilst another with our colours aboard is jockey Brian Hughes on Definitely Red priced up at 14/1.

ITV announced plans last week to air a virtual version of the world’s greatest steeplechase, using the latest CGI technology and algorithms, with the race taking place at 5.15pm, replicating the start time of the real thing.

Previous runnings of the Virtual National have been shown to be remarkably accurate, and could help answer whether Tiger Roll would have emulated Red Rum in winning for the third time.
