Will Ronaldo get the Zouma treatment after smashing autistic lad’s ‘phone and leaving him bruised? No chance

I can’t be certain but I wouldn’t be surprised if every cat lover doesn’t make their way to West Ham games since the Kurt Zouma affair.

No-one defends him – that’s impossible – but the regular weekly copycat booing is becoming more than a tad boring and dare I say childish. But then so many fans are aren’t they.

However, yesterday an infinitely sadder story arose when the widely and understandably disliked Cristiano Ronaldo  destroyed an Everton fan’s mobile such was the temper tantrum he threw as he left the pitch. Mind you he is only 37!!!!!

It now turns out that the fan was 14 years old, autistic, was attending his first match with his mother and now never wants to go again.

You can read the story in full here: Cristiano Ronaldo left my autistic son, 14, bruised & battered after smashing his phone in fit of rage over Everton loss (thesun.co.uk)

Ok Da do Ron Ron may have been unlucky that the victim is in such circumstances but it’s an offence which I doubt will receive the same attention as Zouma’s via a media feeding frenzy. I hope I’m wrong.

Maybe just as Kurt’s actions was brought to the attention of the RSPCA this lad’s health and shock as a result  of Ronaldo’s behaviour might make it one for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children.

Won’t happen though will it and the arrogant 37 year old will probably escape taunts of “ring ring” from the terraces when he turns out for his fading team.

In the meantime we at CandH send our love and best wishes to the lad and his family!

  1. \this is a country that loves animals and barely tolerates children and young adults; as for those with disabilities….. and if you question that look at the numbers of children in poverty and the number of families using foodbanks. Kids with special needs (this should really be called different needs) struggle to get support to help them live normal lives. As the 6th richest country in the world all of this could be fixed with an equitable tax system, but nobody really cares.
Animal cruelty though; they’d bring back hanging for that!
