Wilshere ready to put woes behind him

Jack Wilshere has probably been the pick of the squad over the first two games of the season, demonstrating why Manuel Pellegrini appears to be one of his biggest fans.
The midfielder looks likely to be starting his season in the first team on current form and an injury free season would be a massive boost who at his best has talent to burn.
He has been working hard at Rush Green since recovering from his ankle problems and that is showing in his game after playing a big role in controlling midfield against Altach and Man City.
Fitness is now the key because given that, his ability is not in question and ahead of the match against Newcastle he has spoken of the miseries he went through last term.
After making a decent start he was sidelined until near the end when he returned to show what he is all about as the team produced a fabulous finale to things.
Discussing the situation he declared:“I don’t think I have to say how frustrating it was. I joined a new team and I thought I started well and was playing well, so to miss so much of the season was devastating.

“I missed being around the team and being part of it and getting to know everyone, so I wanted to get back before the end of last season.
“It’s nice being back around the team and away with them here in China. I have enjoyed it, I’m feeling good and now I just want to push on.”
“We have no choice! There is a lot of quality in this team, especially in the midfield area, so it’s down to us as individuals to show the manager in training and in games that we should be playing.
“It’s a long season, though, so I am sure we will all have opportunities to prove ourselves.”
