Wilshere rumours could be true

Rumours that Jack Wilshere could face surgery on his ankle and spend up to twelve weeks out of action could prove to be true.

Manuel Pellegrini confirmed Wilshere was suffering from an ankle injury in his pre-match press conference and confirmed he would go for a scan.

Although Wilshere has largely been injury free since the summer of 2017 he has suffered multi problems with both ankles between 2012 and 2014.

A senior source told Claret and Hugh that “Although no final decision has been made until the results of the scan are known, the rumours that he faces more surgery on his ankle and could be out for three months could turn out to be true”

Wilshere joined the Hammers over the Summer on a free transfer with a signing on/agent fee of around £6m with wages of £100,000 per week on a three-year contract meaning he could earn £15.6m over the length of his deal.
