Wilshere: “Technically, he’s up there with the top players”

Jack Wilshere reckons Felipe Anderson is getting there!

The back-in-training Hammers midfielder has been watching our Brazilian boy carefully and speaking to www.whufc.com he declared: “It was difficult for him at the start as he came from Italy and he’s a Brazilian boy and it’s hard in the Premier League week-in, week-out. It doesn’t matter who you are playing against, you have to put your foot in and be ready for the fight,” said the No19.

“You can see he’s starting to come good now, he’s getting comfortable in the league and starting to show the skills and talent he has got, and he’s adding a few goals as well. I think there’s a lot more to come from him and I can’t wait to see it.

“Technically, he is up there with the top players. He’s a player who can do pretty much everything, he can beat his man and has that Brazilian flair, if you like, and he’s also got the vision to get his head up and make a pass and he’s starting to show that now.”

He added: “I’m just looking forward to getting back and helping the lads out. They’ve been fantastic since I’ve been out, they’ve picked up some vital points and they’ve made their way up the league and I just want to come back and help them.”

ClaretandHugh says: Jack Wilshere has taken plenty of knocking since his arrived at the club and even we were critical when he started discussing his England situation recently which didn’t seem the best bit of timing. But having said that we all wish him the absolute best when he returns as at only 26 he should be approaching his peak and we really, seriously, hope he can put his injury woes behind him because at his best he is an extremely talented player indeed. That he should be moved to talk in such glowing terms of Felipe Anderson is great and offers hope that with himself fully fit the Irons could have two super creative players on the team. With Lanzini  back there will be a lot to look forward to in the creative department.  He’s right in claiming there’s more to come from the Brazilian and when it does he is going to terrorise a few PL defences. That’s a certainty.

  1. Take your time in getting back, the reason we have picking up points is because you have not been in the team. Harsh but fact.
