|

winston-reid-west-ham-united_3009997Chairman’s son Jack Sullivan has added further injury woes by revealing Winston Reid has also suffered an injury in training and could be out for between four and six weeks with an injured hamstring.

Master Sullivan tweeted out  “Very bad news… Reid Injured in training 4-6 weeks with hamstring. But some players will return faster than anticipated due to hard work”

Reid has made twelve appearances after suffering a hip injury earlier this season.

Who knows maybe jenkinson will score in the next two games like he did earlier in the season and help us to take the points. I wonder if the players are doing proper warm up and stretching exercises in training and before games to help prevent injuries or do they do warm up in a hot bath with a can of Coke whilst having a smoke.

Cripes. More than half the starting XI. um. At least we’ll get to see what Bilic is made of. We do know this, Stoke will be a) hammering our right-hand side and, b) sending balls deep into the area.

Be very interesting to see if we still try and play out the back and not hoof it. Hate to say it, but it might be an SA type affair. Might consider going two up top if we had a decent pairing – Jelavic and AC ain’t it.

With Reidy out, I am actually looking forward to seeing what Slav does. What if:
    Tomkins, Oxford, Ogbonna, Cressie
Antonio, Kouyate, Noble, Jenkinson (hey he did play wing last week)
    Zarate
    Carrol

Maybe Song as an impact sub?

If true, this is becoming a source of real concern. One thing is to get injured during a match, another is to get injured in training. Obiang, Lanzini and now Reid ?

    What IS going on ?

It’s almost unbelievable, what the hell is going on – I’ve been reading on Twitter tonight people saying Besiktas had a record of injuries under Bilic’s training regime but have no idea if that’s true or the usual Twitter cobblers.

I hope someone with some sort of expertise and knowledge is looking into this injury crisis, it’s getting beyond a joke – I think David Gold is claiming that West Ham are only eigth in the injury league table for the Premiership, it just seems like we’re losing players all the time, you’d only think that Arsenal have a worse record.

Good to see you are cheerful & optimistic as ever Canchaz.

I doubt there’s many hammers who don’t know Stoke is one of our bogey teams but Reid’s warning on anotherost, now takes on a new significance with him now out.
I elect Tommo will go back in the middle and Jenkinson will get his place back. Let’s hope he puts in a right back’s performance, otherwise we’ll be lamenting on another precious 3 home points that slipped away.
We are, without doubt treading water at the moment and we badly need to break this pattern before we stop treading water and start getting swept backward by the tide
