Wolves next and the Irons need to be much better

So maybe it did as bit for confidence but beyond that there was little to get overly enthusiastic about beyond Benny’s great goal.

Oggy looked more like his old self

A win is a win and it certainly made a change after  the miseries of recent weeks but the lack of cohesion and creativity against a much weakened Bees side was as alarming as it gets, notably in the first half.

The opposition made seven changes and the Hammers – playing a reasonably strong team – simply couldn’t make any inroads at all during a first half which in entertainment terms would probably have drawn a  maximum of one.

It really was that bad and at times resembled schoolboy football with the body language of many giving the impression there was little interest in this particular FA Cup game.

Gonzo has given his ratings of course and it would be hard to disagree with those for Soucek and Antonio on whom Moyes has made it clear he is relying for goals.

The were both very poor although for me it was nice to see Oggy looking more like the player he was before injury.

Ok we are into the fourth round and hope ,will always spring eternal as a result but we will need top be an awful lot better against  Wolves and Everton.

Sorry, not impressed.

A terrible performance last night against mostly a brentford second team. Moyes so lucky yet again put out a terrible team selection. It should be clear even from the game last night that players like Soucek and Bowen cannot start against wolves. Fornals and Benrahna have to start. If Moyes does not know his best team by now he is an utter fool. Fab in goals. Coufal is our best rb by some distance. I wud go with a back 3 against Wolves, Dawson, Zouma ( Ogbonna if Zouma not fit) and Aguerd. The midfield 3 has to be Rice with Fornals and Paqueta. Benrahma just behind Scamacca. So the only decision is who he plays at left wing back and I would give Bowen a run there. For me 10 of the 11 positions are obvious to everyone and his only question is who plays lb cresswell, Emerson, scarles or Bowen!!
