Wolves want Europa Cup postponement after Coronavirus hits Olympiacos owner

Wolves may get a postponement of their match against Olympiacos on Thursday night after it emerged the Greek club’s owner – who also owns Nottingham Forest – has tested positive of Coronavirus.

According to the midlands paper the Express and Star the Premier League outfit – who are set to meet the Irons on Sunday – have contacted UEFA to request the postponement of their last-16 first leg clash.

Olympiacos players and staff are currently in hospital for coronavirus assessments after owner Evangelos Marinakis revealed he tested positive for Covid-19.

Marinakis  released the news on social media ahead of his side’s match against Wolves this week which was set to be played in front of an empty stadium.

“The recent virus has ‘visited ‘me and I felt obliged to let the public know,” he posted.

“I feel good as I take all the necessary measures and I discipline to the doctors’ instructions.

“I strongly advice all my fellow citizens to do the same. I wish all a quick recovery.”

The 52-year-old attended Forest’s home game with Millwall last Friday.

    Surely after this Wolves won’t travel. They’ll be mucked about all this anyway.
    We wouldn’t have that much of an advantage anyway if they had gone. We need to win on our own merits.
