Work continues to sign elusive centre back

West Ham continues to work on possible transfers today with a centre back remaining the primary priority on transfer deadline day and West Ham have no intention of throwing in the towel just yet. Claret and Hugh understand that many agents are in constant contact with the club and they are multiple targets being worked on in parallel today.

Talks are ongoing with a number of third parties trying to get that elusive centre back addition over the line by 11 pm but nothing is close as it stands at noon.

The senior club source speaking to Claret and Hugh by phone this morning gave straight 50/50 odds of signing anyone today but said the club will continue to look at EFL club targets after today if no signings can be made.

David Moyes does not want a player just to make up squad numbers and will only a sanction a signing he believes can make a real difference to his team.

  1. Does anyone know what has happened to the Official West Ham App, nothing has appeared on it since the end of Wednesday nights game. I have uninstalled it twice and downloaded a new one, no change.

  2. Coufal and Soucek not too shabby if we can keep hold of Dec. We really should have gone all in for Watkins it was so obvious he was what we are looking for and would give us pace and power, imagine him and Antonio that would have frightened the life out of any defence as it is, if Antonio gets injured we have Haller who lacks aggression and pace up top.

We certainly shouldn’t waste money on an average centre back when we have good youth players that could step in.

  3. Real Shame the owners had no money for Moyes since we were told Ollie Watkins was one of his top targets.
