New West Ham boss Julen Lopetegui has been described as a ‘workaholic’ by a West Ham source who is clearly impressed with the new head coach.
West Ham’s Rush Green training ground is usually bereft of players, most of whom are enjoying some well-earned rest. That has not stopped Lopetegui from attending the training ground regularly along with his coaching staff.
June is generally considered to be a time when everyone recharges their batteries, but not J-Lo, who is clearly intent on hitting the ground running when the players return to action. It is understood that the full training schedule is in place for all players, and the manager has spent the past months assessing West Ham from afar, so he is well briefed.
Lopetegui attended numerous Hammers matches during the past few months, but never as a guest of the club. Since signing on the dotted line, the new Hammers gaffer has been swatting up on all the in-club data on players and is understood to be incredibly excited about the season ahead.
Former Sevilla coach Lopetegui has also been impressed with a number of West Ham players who have been attending the training ground in a bid to maintain their fitness. Some had suggested that George Earthy’s appearance in a West Ham video from the training ground had been staged. However, it seems that he is one of many looking to impress the Irons’ new gaffer by doing some extra drills during his summer holidays.
If he doesn’t get the backing from the broad an that Going to be hard trying to get money out of Sullivan he will be off in a flash
Some fans were not pleased with the appointment of the new manager but…. whenever have fans been right?
It’s clear that the bloke left Wolves and stayed where he was living in the midlands studying premiership clubs and waiting a chance. It seems that West Ham was at least one of his preferred few if not his top preference.
Hence when he saw Sullivan he was so impressive, he had detailed plans. He knew exactly what he wanted to do so has started to put that in place before his official day one.
When have you ever known a manager like that ?
He clearly wants to work and to succeed in the premier league and he wants to do that with West Ham. Now can we cut the bloke a break…
Spot on! I wasnt happy initially when JL was about to join but everything I have seen since tells me this guy is an absolute pro and the real deal. I cant wait to see what we can achieve under his leadership. COYI!
I agree come on guys stop acting like victor Mildrews, and back the new manager and coaches to put their stamp on the team !!! Lets show some positivity as we embark on a new era.COYI
Last year the first signing I believe wasn’t until August and that was Alvarez. Not a bad signing. Perhaps it pays to have a bit of patience.
Exactly
Hows that worked out?
Last time we signed a player right at the start of a transfer window was Nayef Aguerd
Give it a rest Morty. How about some positivity. He isn’t suppose to start until 1 July so all this is extra and he wants to get off to a flying start. I don’t remember the last time we are started signing players right when the window opens rather than at the end. I’m super keen for the new era.Win or lose, lets back the team.
Workaholic? He’s just had a year off, he should be quite enthusiastic
