World class Ward-Prowse

|

I woke up to a text from my Forest supporting mate here in the midlands this morning which said “JWP ruined my weekend” followed by the W word, which brought a smile from me despite my having had a  soft spot for yesterday’s opposition down the years since Brian Clough. I know how the lad must have felt because world class Hammer Ward-Prowse was monumental – very much a David Moyes signing by the way, so lots of credit where it is due. He truly is a game changer. But for him it would have been a very different game indeed yesterday, Instead he took his assists for the season to nine and turned on a display of serious ability. It is hard to understand – as stated by many others why Gareth Southgate continues to ignore him.

World class Ward-Prowse

Alan Shearer had a slightly different way of describing the midfielder than my pal Chris 🙂 when claiming that he had been the best player in the world at delivering set pieces. He  discussed the No 7 on BBC2’s Match of the Day and said:  “James Ward-Prowse is world class. He is the best around and has been for a long time.

“Two assists today, he’s got nine all season in all comps, more than any other Premier League player, it’s a nightmare for defenders. He is the best around and has been for a long time.”
Given that other clubs were in for him in the summer window Moyes did a great job in getting him and we now see why – he knew it made sense!
