Worries about striker target’s attitude

Former Hammers hero Frank McAvennie is concerned that reported Hammers target Odsonne Edouard may have the wrong attitude to become part of the squad.

The Irons have been regularly linked with the Celtic forward and although Macca believes he would do a job for us he has a history of attitude problems

So far, Edouard has had an impressive season with the Scotish outfit scoring 16 goals and providing 3 assists in 26 appearances for the club.

He is also averaging a WhoScored match rating of 7.31 – ranking him as the club’s joint fourth-best performer in the Scottish top flight.

There’s a big difference between the Scottish and English Premier leagues of course and it may well prove to be too big a jump for the 23 year old anyway.

Macca however, commenting to Footballer Insider reckons he could do the job but that there could be issues arising between him and the manager based on the player’s history.

He said: “I would take Edouard at West Ham but the way he downed tools with Lenny (Neil Lennon)  was disappointing. The boy’s got talent and West Ham need a striker. But if David Moyes would have that kind of player, I don’t know.

“But, you get the ball up to him and he keeps it. He’s definitely a talent. There are rumours going about here, there and everywhere but until someone comes in and spends the money, we just don’t know what’s going to happen.”
