Wright blames the board

BBC pundit and former Arsenal striker Ian Wright has blamed the Irons board for the teams problems this season and urged them to stick by Slaven Bilic.

Wright made it clear he doesn’t believe the Croatian boss simply has been given the funds required to improve his team, and it isn’t his fault that West Ham have struggled throughout a torturous season.

“I do feel for Slaven. I’ve got a lot of time for him,” he said.

“The board have come out and said they’re going to back him – but you just hope it’s not lip service.

“Are they going to give him the money to buy the kind of players to get West Ham going, because I don’t think they’ve done that up until this point. That’s what he needs!”
