Yarmolenko hits new low in under 23s side

|

Andriy Yarmolenko found himself in the under-23s for today’s clash with Swansea’s kids in the Premier League Cup – scored a goal in the 1-0 win but was also sent off after 50 minutes..

It’s the latest setback for a bloke who has really lost his way as a first team player this season and whose contract comes to an end in the summer.

The attacker’s demotion may have been as recovery from an injury, his poor form for the first team or merely to give him some time on the pitch.

Things looked to have turned out ok for him when  he scored the opener but then found himself seeing red and was dismissed from the action after a tussle with Swansea’s Ben Erickson in teh 50th minute.

His goal was enough to see the youngsters past Swansea although they had to do without him for 40 minutes of the second half.

Yarmolenko asks to play for the 23s because he wants to work on his match fitness which is more of an effort than the other bench warmers seem to want to make. So I applaud him for that. Great attitude. Doesn’t think he’s too billy big boots to play for the 23s. Scored the winning goal just spoilt it by getting sent off but at least it shows he was at it.

The ref was PANTS and despite the headlines, Yarmo did nothing to warrant that inexplicable red card.
The ref came out in the second half determined to make a name for himself, and he did……$@#&!

Applaud him all you like for getting sent off.
Is he now banned gorgeous 3 games ?
