Young Irons floor the Dutch

BywaterWest Ham Development squad came from behind to beat PSV Endhoven Jong 2-1 at Upton Park and in the Barclays Premier League International Cup match.

The Hammers’ were brilliant in their second game of the tournament afterlosing 5-3 to Athletic Bilbao in a thrilling game at the Boleyn last month.

Jong PSV got their European campaign off to a great start by beating the Bilbao 1-0 and would have qualified for the knockout stages had they won this evening.

But it was the Irons who got the result which kept their European ambitions alive. The next fixture in the tournament is against Fulham on 8 December 2014 at Rush Green.

The Hammers got off to the worst possible start when after just three minutes the visitors scored after Andrija Lukovic held the ball up and laid it off for Andjelo Rudovic to slot home.

But we were level after 37 minutes when Kieran Bywater ([pictured) smashed an unstoppable shot into the top corner before Kieran slotted past Jesse Bertrams after an excellent ball from Lletget split the defence wide open.

IRONS: Spiegel (GK), Westley (Pike 81), Fanimo, Makasi, Pask, Oxford (c), Bywater, Marlow, Lletget, Whitehead (Nasha 71), Sadlier (Mavila 90)

Subs: Bogard, Tombides, Onariase, Gordon
