Youngster leaves

Celtic have signed youngster Justin Osagie from West Ham.

Journalist Fraser Fletcher has reported the news, with the Scottish club snapping up the teenager.

Osagie plays primarily as a centre-back and is also able to play in midfield.

He is eligible to play for both England and Nigeria at international level, and the 17-year-old has signed a permanent deal with Celtic.

Osagie previously played for Southend and Spurs at youth level before moving to the Irons but never appeared close to a first-team breakthrough in east London.

He has never been on a first-team bench, nor has he played for the club at first-team level, and Osagie will now aim to make a real impact in Scotland, although he is likely to begin playing for the club’s youth teams.

It remains to be seen how his career progresses but he will be aiming to make his professional debut in the coming months and years.
