Sky Sports F1 commentator David Croft slams West Ham board, calling for Sullivan and Brady to go.

I have to admit, one of my guilty sporting pleasures is a bit of Formula 1. In fact, the current season has provided a welcome antidote to West Ham’s disastrous form over the past calendar year.

And for those who don’t know, Sky Sports co-commentator David Croft — better known as Crofty — is a big West Ham fan. I remember bumping into him at Upton Park during our final season at the Boleyn Ground, and it’s fair to say neither of us could have imagined the mess the club would find itself in today.

Crofty Turns His Commentary Skills on West Ham

This week, Crofty has taken time out from what’s been an enthralling end to the F1 season to hit out at David Sullivan and Karren Brady. Despite the success of McLaren — who clinched the Constructors’ Championship with fellow Brit Lando Norris sitting second in the Drivers’ standings — Croft remains famously impartial in the paddock.

You’re Fired: Croft did not hold back on Brady

But when it comes to football, he’s clearly more than happy to wear his claret and blue on his sleeve.

“3.1% of our total game time — that’s how long West Ham have been ahead in the Premier League this season. Twenty-five minutes and six seconds. The next worst is Fulham at 13.3%. That’s how bad West Ham are. We’re not sleepwalking to relegation; we’re hurtling 225mph towards it.”

Croft didn’t stop there.

“Something has to change from the very top. Not just the playing staff — there needs to be a complete overhaul. David Sullivan, Karren Brady, your time’s up. You’ve got to go.

If this was a series of The Apprentice, Karren Brady would’ve been fired after episode one. And David Sullivan, it feels like you’re running my club — our club — as a vanity project. Stop doing it. Get out now while you can, and while West Ham still have a chance to stay up.”

Powerful stuff from Crofty — and it’s hard to imagine many West Ham fans disagreeing. It makes a refreshing change from the likes of Simon Jordan, who seems all too content to blame supporters for the club’s current plight.

Hammers Chat my first game was West Ham 10-0 Bury . . . seriously!
We than went and bought Bury's central defender 😬⚒️ Irons

Started Hammers Chat alongside my partner in crime Geo back in 2014 and brough in to Claret & Hugh by my old mate Hughie to produce videos a couple of years later.

Give West Ham opinions on Sky Sports News and even did a bit of moonlighting on BBC Football Focus.

Sometimes feature on BBC Radio 5 Live and once ate a biscuit in Tony Gales shed.

Connoisseur of salted caramel doughnuts and I love a Sloppy Giuseppe pizza although I'm slightly suspicious where the name came from.

When I'm not moaning about West Ham I can be found walking a dog that looks like a sheep and tinkering with pinball machines.

Of course it’s our fault Gonzo, this is the UK and the wealthy cannot be blamed for anything that goes wrong. You must know that by now 😊
