Pablo Zabaleta could hardly be better placed to discuss Samir Nasri and the attributes he’s likely to bring to the Hammers.
He played in the same team as the Frenchman for five seasons at Manchester City, picking up two league titles and an EFL Cup along the way.
Most of us got an early glimpse of what the midfielder is set to bring to the team in the match against Birmingham City when his neat and tidy passing was a joy to behold.
He showed real class at times and that came as no surprise to Zaba who knows his game inside out and backwards.
Nasri is the second midfielder brought in by the manager to provide the much deeded creativity following Lanzini’s summer injury while on World Cup duty and Jack Wilshere’s lay off.
Zaba sees Nasri as providing that touch of creative quality required in opening up opposition defences and has nothing but god to say about the 31 year old.
Speaking to www.whufc.com he said: “I know Samir very well. As a player, I think he is one of those players who will bring quality to the team.
“You can see, in some parts of the games, we need a player who can keep the ball and keep possession for the final pass in the final third for the strikers.
“He’s been working really hard to build up his fitness level, so if he reaches the best level, I think he can help us a lot.”
