Zarate off to QPR slamming Allardyce all the way

|

ZaratehammerQPR are tonight reported to have sealed the Mauro Zarate deal which will see the Hammers striker remain at Loftus Road until the end of the season.

ClaretandHugh was the first media outlet to report the likely move earlier today but tonight the mood turned bitter as Zarate slammed Sam Allardyce’s treatment of him.

He accused  the Hammers boss of refusing to play him because he was signed by chairman David Sullivan.

Zarate will undergo a medical on Tuesday and said:  “I now have the chance to play for a coach who has faith in me and will not allow his personal feelings to get in the way of what is good for the team.

Talking to The Mirror he added: “I respect the other strikers at the club who have done a good job. But I believe my record entitles me to respect and I have not had that from the manager.

“The chairman has confidence in me. I know this because he brought me to the club. But for this reason the manager has refused to play me. He did not want me.”

He added: “I made it clear many weeks ago that I wanted to leave.

Well well,Allardyce exposed yet again.I have a feeling this will come back to haunt us on April 25.

Surely this is the board exposed, not Allardyce. There’s no question that Zarate should have been played more but it is the manager’s job to choose his squad, not the board, or individuals on the board. If Allardyce didn’t send a message maybe Sullivan would be signing all manner of players he liked. Is that what we want?

We shouldn’t allow our views of one particular player to cloud our judgement on how the club should operate its player signing policy. The best outcome to this is that Zarate does a great job at QPR and we sell him on at a great profit.

Zarate was closer to the playing group than any of us.I believe what he has said about Allardyce is true. All Zarate wanted to do was play and we all know he can.At the end of the day Gold & Sullivan are paying the wage bill and if Allardyce thinks he is sending the gaffer a message I think his ego is out of control. If Sullivan signs one player then everyone including the manager should respect his decision.None shown by Allardyce from his actions as such.I believe strongly that Allardyce should have gone after promotion as that is what he was employed to do.He has been compensated both financially and had the privilege of managing a great football club for nearly 3 years in the Premiership.Football is more competitive than it ever was and we need a progressive thinker so the club can go forward and challenge the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal.I believe the results over Christmas show that we are not top 4 contenders. All of Allardyce’s protestations about officials always getting decisions wrong when we lose is annoyingly predictable coupled with a captain whose main role seems to be to bash the referee’s ear.I feel better now.COYI

I agree with that. Respect the fact that Sam has delivered thus far but he is not the way forward. He seems to be waging a massive inner battle to avoid returning to type..and he is doomed to fail in that, the signs are all there.

Totally agree Roman. Allardyarse hasn’t learnt anything because of his ego. He will play Carroll and Nolan with Downing on the wing at every opportunity because thats all he knows. Wait until we lose Kouyate and Sakho to the Africa Cup. Zarate should be playing alongside Carroll or even instead of, with Valencia. If you want a winger play Jarvis!
Its Carroll who is screwing up our game style. If the arrogant Fat Man continues we will end up mid-table. COYI!

  • Both board and sa agreed on signing. Manager wasn’t forced to take him nor was it done over his head

  • rugbyirons says:

Hugh, that isnt what Zarate is saying and surely he is closer to it than your mole? We are only doing well because the Davids are buying the players.SA should be kept well out of it.He is not our future.

  • Lost me Rugby – he isn’t saying what?

  • Got yer rugby. No player is forced on the manager. If they have a suggestion they put it to him and he can say yes or no. He said yes so altho effectively DS instigated everything it had SA’s approval which makes his refusal to play him even more unaCCEPTABLE

Another Allardyce ‘cock up’. We all new this was coming sooner or later, the guy has never been given a run in the side. He was never wanted by Fat Sam and he seems to have got his way again. The Board have splashed out good money for players who were a great success until Carroll was fit again. The goals have dried up, the long ball is back and with the exception of Swansea and a great back pass by Hammers Fan Konchesky Carroll is not scoring. It was plain to see the writing on the wall against both Swansea & Leicester, we are reverting to type. Against Chelski we showed them far too much respect and we didn’t have a plan ‘b’ again. The Gooners were lucky yes, but their keeper got a stiff neck catching high balls……..! Fat Sam has not got a new contract, we are only going to finish mid table seeing as ‘2’ of our best ‘3’ players re going away, so lets bite the bullet, let him see out his contract and let him and his cohorts (Carroll & Nolan) leave at the end of the season. I think he has failed the Board they hae not failed him. I hope Zarate keeps Harry up and has the last laugh.
