Zaza dilemma – there are options

Simone-ZazaThe Irons are keeping a keen eye on Simone Zaza’s appearances with the cut off period set at 13 before a 14th game means we have to buy him.

With seven appearances behind him and not a goal in sight there’s no chance of the club investing £20-£25 million

However, although the position looks difficult for the club to solve there are options available to them in such circumstances.

The £5 million loan fee has now been paid and obviously if it were possible to keep the player for the season without the ‘must buy’ clause the club would presumably go with that.

A loan move could be on should  interest reported in Italy become reality but also possible are negotiations with Juve aimed removing the must buy clause.

That would give  him the chance to show what he’s got over the full season – whilst removing some pressure from him – rather than face a situation where he is getting no games at all.

A tricky position for all to be sure but not 100 per cent insoluble with willingness to find a way through from all sides.
