With stories of multiple agents being involved, all looking for a cut from the deal, plus the belief that he may still have knee problems the possible transfer continued as it has done for weeks with doubts surrounding it.
Now we appear to have reached the final stage of things with the player set to become the club’s top earner if goes ahead and widespread reports are correct.
He was believed to be on personal terms of around £145k a week at Stamford Bridge and although no figure has been given for the terms offered by West Ham they are believed to be in the region of £120k a week.
If we pay him £120k a week, and don’t put Declan on at least the same but more likely £150, we can expect that formal transfer request to come in over the next few day.

According to this report he’s on £46k per week at Chelsea which means he’d be delighted at £70k pw! Surely this is a wind up Hugh?

I’ve heard everything between 80k and 145k in different reports. Don’t think anyone knows for certain but as long as he adds to the quality of our squad, which I think he does, then I don’t really care. Now if Moyes can turn Watford’s Craig Dawson into a fantastic defender for us, then imagine what he can do with a player like Zouma.
