Kurt Zouma will undergo his medical later today in Saudi Arabia ahead of his move to Al-Orobah.
The deal is believed to involve West Ham subsidising around half of his remaining £4.4 million in wages, as confirmed by a high-ranking club official last night. This subsidy will either come through a loan until the end of his contract or a one-off £2.2 million bonus to terminate his contract by mutual agreement.
However, those expecting this move to facilitate the completion of the Carlos Soler transfer should think again. A high-ranking Hammers official told C&H, “We’ll need more than just one deal,” indicating that the club is likely to push for additional departures.
The loss on Zouma is significant, considering he is still only 29 years old and cost the club £25 million. Unfortunately, he is no longer able to meet the demands of top-flight football, and the club has decided to save £2 million in wages by allowing him to leave on a free transfer.
Moyes has cost our club a great deal Zouma never passed a medical it was just Moyes insisting we sign him along with all the other rubbish he insisted on not to mention not hardly winning a game once he saw his new terms for a contract losing us a European place
Moyes has a lot to answer for something the “beware what you wish for” brigade fall silent about.
Welcome Tim and Jlo a new start for our club. Good luck
C’mon William
Drop the Moyes bashing!! He did much more good for our club than not.
How much longer are you going to find reason to have a go?
…… Move on. He has!
Why are West Ham paying any of his salary I thought the Saudi’s were awash with money
“We’ll pay half his wages, you turn a blind eye during the medical” etc etc
thought he passed the medical y/day
Best of three?
I hear it consisted of bend down and touch your toes, stand on one leg, cough when I squeeze your testiclals and hobble to that chair and back! Seriously, great news if Kurt has been given the go ahead, ultra reliable before a series of knee injuries and did brilliantly to last as long as he did. Very best wishes for the next chapter in his career.
So Zouma will still actually be our player then if we’re subsidising his wages? We’re loaning him to this Saudi club? Must admit I thought they were signing him on a free.
He could be drawing his wage for another year not even registered as a squad member…
Any form of getting rid of him that costs less than that is a gain.
