Zouma update

by Hughie Southon

Kurt Zouma – despite picking up a knock which saw him hobbling for much of the game against Everton – is OK!

The central defender looked in fine form on his return to match action but looked in trouble after one particular challenge.

Indeed at one stage it looked as though he may have to come off but he played on and was immense at the back alongside the outstanding Nayef Aguerd.

With Craig Dawson having moved on to Wolves it was and is important that we suffer no further injuries to our backline and thankfully that is the case throughout the squad.

However, given his sometimes recurring knee injury, for which he underwent wash out surgery, it was feared that he may again require a scan on Monday morning.

We were told bey a key contact inside the London Stadium: “Other than a few bruises there were no serious injuries reported after yesterdays game.”
