Zouma wants to make Chelsea “suffer”

Kurt Zouma insists that he wants to make his old club Chelsea “suffer” this weekend when the Hammers welcome the Blues to the London Stadium.

The defender moved to the Hammers from the west London club in the summer and has already made a solid start to life with the Hammers.

During his time with Chelsea, Zouma won two Premier League titles, along with the Champions League and the League Cup.

But he insists that he is out to put three more points on the board for his new employers, and is aiming to remind the Blues of what they have lost.

Speaking to the club’s official website, he said: “It will feel special in a way because I’ve been there for so many years, but it’s a football game and like all the other games I want to win this game for my team.

“I want to beat Chelsea because I want to beat everybody. I play for West Ham now and I’m very happy to be here. It’s going to be a tough game as we know they have a lot of strength, but we have to use our strength to make them suffer.”

Chelsea have been in superb form this season and remain top of the Premier League table, having beaten Watford 2-1 in midweek. The Hammers, by comparison, are looking to bounce back from going three games without a win, losing to both Wolves and Manchester City and drawing with Brighton.
