Allardyce to get tough in contract talks
According to the Sunday Mirror, the 60 year old Upton Park boss is ready to tell the Davids he will only do the job on his terms.
It seems a hardball game of “my way or the highway” is set to get underway although the club now looks set to make a change anyway!
ClaretandHugh has been regularly told over the last week that candidates for his job are now being listed with Slaven Bilic seemingly the No 1 contender followed by such as David Moyes.
And we have also learned that former Chelsea boss Claudio Ranieri – now with Greece – may be a possible contender although the Hammers are looking to youth as their starting point
Allardyce was targeted by furious fans after the 4-0 FA Cup fifth round defeat at West Brom last weekend and co chairman David Gold has declared since on this site “a response is required at Whute Hart Lane today. ”
He is keen to continue at the club despite a stormy relationship with the fans – but apparently he will only do so on his terms.
He will want plenty of funds and will maker it clear he needs to manage free of the restrictions which were placed on him last season with demands for attacking football and the like from the board.
