Pedro scored his first ever Hammers game

The Irons came from behind to answer all the questions left behind from the Manchester City debarcle to crush Southampton.

It was their first win at St Mary in seven attempts, with Andy Carroll scoring his sixth of the season and Pedro Obian grabbing his first  for the Hammers and Mark Noble’s deflected free-kick clinched the points.

It saw Slaven’s side get back to winning ways in style and meant the Irons had managed three away top-flight wins in a row.

Southampton  took an early lead through debutant Manolo Gabbiadini who fired high beyond Randolph but within two minutes  Obiang played a perfectly-weighted through ball for Carroll, who fired home confidently.

Aaron Cresswell tested the Saints keeper with a low shot and that was the end of the chances until the left back forced a corner which was headed only as far as the advancing Obiang rifled him for his first goal in 55 outings. left-hand corner.

Robert Snodgrass was brought down on the edge of the penalty area after the break and Noble’s shot was defelcted via his opposite number Davis.
