West Ham haven’t given up hope of persuading free agent Jack Colback in joining the Hammers this summer.

The 24 year old midfielder is available on a Bosman ruling after his contract with Sunderland ends on 30th June. Newcastle, Aston Villa and Swansea are all said to want his services with  Sunderland also keen to retain him by offering him a new improved contract.

Former Hammer and Sunderland chief scout Bryan ‘Pop’ Robson said:

“He is a tidy player – a very good player for Sunderland and I think he has really come on in the last couple of seasons”

Jack  is often compared to Paul Scholes, a comparison he is more than happy with.

Colback has postponed a decision over his future until he comes back from his honeymoon next month.
